Experience:
Mr. Ryan began concentrating on employment and labor law
issues in law school. At Hofstra University School of Law,
he received various honorary awards in recognition of his
concentrated study of public and private sector labor law.
He also served as Law Clerk to the General Counsel for the
Connecticut State Board of Labor Relations.
In practice, Mr. Ryan has continued his focus on the representation of management in labor and employment relations. He has represented
employers in state and federal courts, and before various administrative agencies.
Mr. Ryan regularly advises employers on all employment and labor law issues including, wage and hour issues, employee discipline and
termination, workplace safety, medical and disability leave, reductions in force, non-competition and trade secret matters. He is also
experienced in counseling employers on the special issues that arise when an employer has multi-state locations.
Mr. Ryan has also served as an adjunct professor of labor
relations at Teikyo Post University and as an instructor
for certificate programs in human resources management and
personnel relations. He has lectured before a variety of
trade and professional associations on labor law topics,
including privacy issues in the workplace, union awareness,
sexual harassment and other forms of discrimination, and
wrongful termination.
Mr. Ryan has been recognized as one of 2007 ?Connecticut Super Lawyers? and ?New England Super Lawyers? by Law and Politics.
